What is Gratitude? Gratitude is operating from a mindset of appreciation and thankfulness
During our 4/10 mentoring session, students discussed the importance of gratitude and respect. Studies actually show that when we practice gratitude, our moods are elevated, and we are overall more positive people.

Students pictured are doing a gratitude snowball fight, where they wrote down something they're thankful for, threw them at each other, and circled up to celebrate all they were grateful for. For respect, we examined scenarios where it takes great initiative to step in and demand respect and dignity for ourselves, for those around us, and for minorities who are being unfairly judged.
Next session, we will focus on service, and we've challenged students to bring in used or new shoes to donate to Changing Footprints, an organization that repurposes and donates shoes.
